Barricade incident near City of Industry ends as suspect is taken into custody
An armed man was taken into custody after he barricaded himself in a home in the unincorporated area of Bassett near the City of Industry, authorities said early Monday.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Kelvin Moody said that around 5:30 p.m. Sunday the man barricaded himself in the residence in the 600 block of San Angelo Avenue.
Moody said the man, described as a suspect in an assault with a deadly weapon, had not taken any hostages, and no injuries were reported.
The Sheriff’s Department tweeted about 12:30 a.m. Monday that tear gas had been deployed and that the suspect had been taken into custody. His identity wasn’t immediately disclosed.
