Two men in custody suspected of arson in Chatsworth brush fire
Two men remained in custody Saturday, suspected of setting a small brush fire in an unincorporated area of Chatsworth.
The fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. Friday northwest of the intersection of Valley Circle and Roscoe boulevards, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Squire.
Los Angeles city and county firefighters as well as Ventura County crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, which was contained to under one acre and did not threaten any structures.
Witnesses described two men who had been seen in the area and an investigation led to the arrest of Mario Giovanni Zuvic and Jameson Raymond Hunt, both 20.
The two were arrested on suspicion of arson and booked into the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $75,000 each.
