Search on for gunman who fatally shot Arleta store owner
Authorities were searching Tuesday for a gunman who fatally shot an Arleta store owner during an apparent robbery, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.
According to witnesses, the 34-year-old victim was confronted by a man on the sidewalk in front of his store around 8:40 p.m. Monday, LAPD spokeswoman Norma Eisenman said.
The victim is believed to have been closing his shop, which is in the 8900 block of Woodman Avenue, Eisenman said.
His wife told authorities her husband had owned the store since February, Eisenman said.
The victim was shot muliple times, according to a news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Eisenman said.
