Traffic headaches from the 88th annual Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood begin long before the awards show takes place on Feb. 28.

To accommodate press risers, fan bleachers and pre-show stages along the Oscars red carpet, Hollywood Boulevard will be closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive beginning at 10 p.m. on Sunday and remain closed until 6 a.m. March 1.

Curb lanes on either side of Hawthorn Avenue between Orange and Highland are closed. Hawthorn Alley between Hollywood Boulevard and Hawthorn Avenue is also shut down.

Various roads within a three blocks of the massive Hollywood and Highland Center began shutting down earlier this month. The Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars are held every year, is located in the complex.

Orchid Alley behind the center has been closed since Feb. 7. The curb lanes on either side of Orange Drive between Hollywood Boulevard and Orchid Alley are also closed, and access to various sections of the sidewalks in the area will be restricted at various times of day.

On the day of the show itself, the majority of roads within three blocks of the Hollywood and Highland Center will be closed, including a seven-block section of Hollywood Boulevard and a five-block section of Highland Avenue.
