A chilly Thanksgiving in California, with freeze warnings in the north
It’s been an unusually warm 2015 so far, but on Thanksgiving Day, California is in for some cool conditions.
In the Los Angeles area, temperatures will get into the low 60s during the day and fall into the 50s and 40s in the evening, National Weather Service forecasters said.
A large swath of Northern California, including the Sierras, will see freezing temperature, according to the forecast, which is good news for ski resorts. A series of winter storms have already dumped significant snow in the Sierras, and the freezing temperatures should make for good ski conditions.
Cold conditions are also expected across the Bay Area, with a freeze warning issued for parts of the North Bay.
