Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Burney
A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning 13 miles from Burney, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:23 a.m. PST at a depth of 3.1 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 44 miles from Shasta Lake, 45 miles from Redding, and 49 miles from Susanville.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
