Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Union City in Bay Area
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Saturday morning near Union City in the San Francisco Bay Area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:22 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was one mile northeast of Union City, four miles from Fremont, five miles from Newark, five miles from Fairview and 73 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
