Crime alerts for Fairfax, Playa del Rey, 8 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 10 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of Los Angeles Police Department data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Six neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Fairfax (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports compared with a weekly average of 0.8 over the last three months.

Playa del Rey (G) topped the list of four neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded seven property crimes compared with its weekly average of 3.5 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for May 17-23, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
