Times photographer Mel Melcon has a knack for snapping shots of people with their dogs. Here are a few favorites from over the years.
Jason Drew, 32, of Studio City, gives his dog Casey, a 9-year-old pit bull, a lift while riding his mountain bike along Chandler Ave. in Sherman Oaks. Drew said that he usually takes his dog on a 4-mile ride, a couple of times a week.
