Aftercollege Collaborates with the Los Angeles Times to Bring More Employment Opportunities to College Students and Recent Graduates
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 28, 2007 -- AfterCollege, Inc. (www.aftercollege.com), the nation’s largest web-based employment network specializing in recruitment at the college level, and the Los Angeles Times (http://arstechnica.netblogpro.com) today announced a strategic alliance that will bring more local entry-level and part-time job opportunities to college students and recent graduates throughout the West Coast.
The service, which will launch in early July, allows employers advertising with The Times to have their part-time jobs, internships and other entry-level positions sent to the AfterCollege network. These jobs will be featured on AfterCollege-powered job sites at relevant academic departments, as well as ancillary and campus student groups. AfterCollege’s proprietary network and job distribution technology translate into more entry-level job opportunities for college students and recent graduates and will also give employers who advertise with The Times an outlet via which they can directly target the college and university audiences. A breakthrough approach in the competitive job search marketplace, AfterCollege’s unique business model was patented last month by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
“Our new relationship with AfterCollege will allow us to target our advertisers’ jobs to relevant and highly-specific audiences of college job seekers,” said Ralph Ray, Director of Recruitment Advertising, Los Angeles Times. “We chose to work with AfterCollege because of its reputation in the industry and the uniqueness of its approach to online recruiting.”
Michael Dawes, Vice President of Channel Partnerships for AfterCollege, said, “We are pleased to be working with the Los Angeles Times to bring quality opportunities from its advertisers to our audiences. The job listings from Times advertisers will provide more choices for the college students and recent graduates who rely on AfterCollege to make well-informed career choices.”
