Fun with grow kits: Microgiardini’s plants in cans
Looking to grow a garden but have zero outdoor space? Italian company Microgiardini produces novelty growing kits in cans. Each can includes growing compound and seeds, so you just pop it open, find a sunny spot for it on your kitchen counter and add water. No need to buy planters and peat. It’s an all-in-one instant mini garden.
The cans are wrapped in attractive labels and contain a variety of herbs and plants, such as rosemary, lavender, mint, basil, chili peppers, tomatoes.
Other fun grow kits: Egglings, Taterpots and Postcarden. There’s even hops in a can -- grow your own beer.
Microgiardini plants in a can ($10 each) are available at Giant Robot, 2015 Sawtelle Blvd., Los Angeles, (310) 478-1819, www.giantrobot.com.
