Wine of the Week: 2007 Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo ‘Monfalletto’
This basic Barolo is a great buy. It’s not a blockbuster, but it’s a Barolo in a more feminine style from Cordero di Montezemolo in La Morra. It has pretty fruit with notes of cherries, rose petals and sweet spices. Tannins are soft and rounded, but it still has that characteristic core of acidity. A Barolo for Burgundy lovers.
I happened to have it with rack of lamb with mustard and bread crumbs, and it worked beautifully. I just wish I had another bottle or two.
