Woman lives on Starbucks products for a year
Some college students may think they live on the pre-packaged sandwiches, cake pops and triple-shot lattes at Starbucks, but one Seattle woman puts them all to shame.
Beautiful Existence (that’s her legal name), made it her mission to literally live on Starbucks products for all of 2013. She ate and drank them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and documented the challenge on her blog “One Woman, One Year, One Challenge” at for1yearofmylife.com.
All of her meals consisted of sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastries and more from the coffee giant and all of the brands it sells in its stores. Existence allowed herself all of the products sold at Starbucks, such as Tazo Tea and Evolution Fresh juices and wraps, even if they were also sold at elsewhere.
If you’re asking why someone would consume only Starbucks products for a year, you’ll have to keep wondering. She attempts to explain on her blog with this:
“So again, why am I doing this challenge? Or why will I do any challenge in the future? Because I love being human and I love the privilege of being able to ask the question why in the first place!”
She did offer other reasons on her blog, such as wanting to learn about the brand’s community impact, and wrote about weight loss and saving money. She claims to have lost weight on her all-Starbucks diet.
Existence reportedly spent $480 to $600 a month on Starbucks products, for more than $7,000 during the course of the year.
So what does one decide to eat after a year of Starbucks? Fish and chips from a Seattle restaurant called Ivars.
