Thanksgiving 2013: Where to eat out on the holiday

Cooking a full Thanksgiving meal is a lot of work. If you’d like someone else to worry about the cooking, here are some places that will be open and ready to serve Thanksgiving lunch and dinner.

33 Taps is offering a special “Next Day” turkey sandwich on Thanksgiving and the week after. It’s a turkey burger with mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo with sweet potato fries on the side ($13). The restaurant is also teaming up with the Los Angeles Food Bank for a holiday food drive through Nov. 30. The Bazaar by José Andrés will serve a family-style menu meant for four people for $65 per person. Dishes include roasted organic turkey, papas canarias and mashed sweet potatoes. The Belvedere at the Peninsula hotel is offering a Thanksgiving meal for $125 per person (includes free-flowing Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne) and $55 for children younger than 12. Dishes include braised d’Anjou pears, Dijon duck confit and gnocchi, chilled smoked bay scallops and mussels, wild mushroom farro, roasted free-range Sonoma turkey and a selection of desserts. Bouchon, Bouchon Bar and Bouchon bakery will all be open on Thanksgiving. At the bistro, a special menu will be offered for $38 per adult and $20 per child ages 10 and younger. The menu includes Diestel Farms turkey, Bouchon stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato gratin, cranberry relish, turkey gravy and a cornbread loaf. 235 N. Cafe del Rey will serve a three-course prix-fixe menu for $55 per person and $20 for children ages 12 and younger. Dishes include beet and burrata salad, beef tartare, roasted turkey breast, duck confit, pink peppercorn pappardelle and apple potato pie. Cecconi’s will serve a traditional Thanksgiving supper and a condensed version of chef Andrea Cavaliere’s regular menu. The Thanksgiving meal is priced at $50 for adults and $25 for children ages 12 and younger. Dishes include an organic, free-range turkey, leeks and cornbread stuffing, sweet potatoes and green beans, pumpkin pie and more. Cleo is serving “Cleopatra’s feast” for $65 per person and a Champagne cocktail when you arrive. For kids ages 5 to 12, dinner is $32. Kids younger than 5 eat for free. Craft will serve a three-course meal for $115 per person. Children 5 years old and younger are free. Delphine Eatery + Bar will serve a California bistro-inspired Thanksgiving set menu for $55 and selections from the restaurant’s raw bar. Items include oysters, seafood ceviche, Brussels sprouts, roasted Diestel turkey, kabocha squash cake and more. The Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village will offer a buffet with chef Alex La Motte’s take on traditional Thanksgiving favorites. The buffet is $109 per adult and $54 for children ages 4 to 12. Dishes include roasted turkey, heirloom squash soup, cornbread stuffing, pumpkin pie and more. There will also be Hanukkah favorites including spaghetti squash latkes and mini challah bread. Fuego at the Hotel Maya will offer guests a Thanksgiving buffet or dinner. The buffet is $59.95 per adult and $29.95 for children ages 12 and younger. Stations include a seafood station with crab claws, an omelet station, a carving station with prime rib and turkey, holiday baked goods and a selection of entrees including maple-glazed Korabuta pork, pumpkin ravioli and more. The buffet service will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For dinner, guests can choose one entree and enjoy two buffet stations with endless selections of soup, salads and desserts. Gladstones is offering a three-course meal between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The regular menu will also be available. Adults are $45 while kids ages 12 and younger are $20. The Hungry Cat Santa Monica will serve a special menu priced at $65 for adults and $32.50 for children ages 10 and younger. Children under 2 are free. Highlights include persimmon and watercress salad, deep-fried turkey, chorizo and oyster stuffing, pumpkin pie and more. The restaurant’s signature raw bar will also be available. The Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach will serve a Thanksgiving harvest buffet for $68 per adult and $25 for children. Children 3 and younger are free. Dishes include fresh shucked Blue Point oysters, house-smoked salmon, a selection of salads, butternut squash chowder, artisan cheeses, oven roasted turkey, a selection of sides and desserts. The Pikey will serve a Thanksgiving and a Hanukkah menu. The Thanksgiving menu is $25 per person and includes a deep-fried turkey leg or roasted turkey breast, mac and cheese, herbed stuffing, squash, potatoes, green bean casserole, a biscuit and pumpkin pie ($8 supplement). Hannukah specials include homemade matzo ball soup ($12) and potato latkes ($10). The restaurant’s signature dishes such as Welsh rarebit, char-grilled beef burger and Mary’s vinegar chicken will also be available. The restaurant will be open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. 7617 W. Scarpetta will serve an all-day brunch from noon to 9 p.m. priced at $95 per adult and $35 for children agest 4 to 12. Tart will serve a special Thanksgiving menu with Heritage turkey breast, leg confit and gravy; roasted and stuffed acorn squash and seared salmon. Family sides include yams, sage-chestnut stuffing, whipped potatoes and more. For dessert, pumpkin pie parfait, gingerbread, whipped cream and spiced apple doughnuts. Tavern will have a special menu priced at $65 per adult and $35 for children ages 12 and younger. There is no charge for children ages 4 and younger. Dishes include persimmon and pomegranate salad, herb-roasted organic turkey breast, chestnut stuffing, candied pecan tart and more. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.
