Artisanal L.A.: Indie-goods showcase Artisanal L.A. returns to downtown Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 to 13. More than 250 artisans, crafters and chefs will offer food, shopping, book signings, workshops and demos, as well as the Sow Swell pop-up urban farm, Institute of Domestic Technology laboratory, mini-Altadena Farmers Market and an organic spirits tasting with L.A.’s Greenbar Distillery. Boulud in Bel-Air: Wolfgang Puck hosts chef Daniel Boulud at Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air on Wednesday, Oct. 23, to celebrate Boulud’s new cookbook, “Daniel: My French Cuisine” and the 20th anniversary of his flagship New York restaurant, Daniel. The five-course menu will feature farmers market ingredients picked by the chefs the same morning. The cost is $220 per person, with an optional pairing from the Ca’ del Bosco Winery, maker of sparkling Franciacorta wines in Lombardy, Italy, for an additional $85. Bocuse d’Or dinner: Chef Josiah Citrin and Trey Foshee of George’s at the Cove in La Jolla will host a charity dinner in November to benefit the Bocuse d’Or USA Foundation at Citrin’s Santa Monica restaurant Melisse. Joining them in the kitchen will be Gavin Kaysen of Café Boulud; Michael Cimarusti of Providence and Connie & Ted’s; Michael Tusk of San Francisco’s Quince and Cotogna; and Traci Des Jardins of San Francisco’s Jardiniere. Each will prepare a course, and the dinner will feature a competition element for a Bocuse d’Or twist. (The Bocuse d’Or is the biennial world chef championship that takes place in Lyon, France.) Two seatings on Nov. 10, available between 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. $185 per person with wine pairing options for $90 or $150. Call (310) 395-0881 for reservations.
