Julian Cox, the king of L.A.’s bar scene, opens a new cocktail lounge in Studio City
If you’ve had a drink in Los Angeles in the last 10 years, chances are you’ve tried a cocktail dreamed up by Julian Cox. The bartender, known for his smoky barbacoa mezcal drink at the now-closed Rivera in downtown Los Angeles, is behind some of the best bar programs in the city, including those at Redbird, Las Perla’s, Bestia (when it opened), Petty Cash and Barrel & Ashes.
And now he’s about to open a new cocktail lounge in Studio City called Fiscal Agent.
Along with Cox’s cocktails, there will be food by Timothy Hollingsworth, former French Laundry chef and chef at the Otium, the soon-to-open restaurant next to the Broad museum, and Michael Kahikina from Barrel & Ashes.
A look at the venue’s Instagram account revealed a sneak peek at the food, with a charcuterie and cheese board and a bánh mì sandwich.
As soon as we know more, we’ll be sure to fill you in.
Fiscal Agent is scheduled to open Oct. 21. and will be open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
11801 Ventura Blvd., Studio City.
