Tillamook has an ice cream truck, and it’s giving away free samples Thursday
Tillamook, the Oregon-based dairy brand known for its block cheddar and pepper jack cheese, is bringing an ice cream truck to L.A. on Thursday.
The truck started an ice cream tour around the U.S. in March and is making its way to the Simplethings location in Westwood. But don’t expect to see cheddar cheese ice cream on the menu.
The refurbished VW-van-turned-ice-cream-truck will be giving out samples of its Oregon strawberry flavor, made with strawberry ice cream and pieces of strawberries; old-fashioned vanilla made with Madagascar vanilla; and one called White Chocolate Raspberry Um, with a swirl of Northwest-grown raspberries and white chocolate ice cream.
You can grab a free sample between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Tillamook began selling ice cream in California grocery stores a few years ago. The truck will have coupons for $1 off a 56 ounce carton, redeemable at markets. Other flavors include Tillamook mudslide with chocolate ice cream and pieces of chocolate fudge; chocolate peanut butter with ribbons of peanut butter and chocolate ice cream; and another named Udderly Chocolate with white and milk chocolate ice cream swirled together with chocolate flakes.
