Follow along as Wine Spectator reveals its 25th annual Top 100 Wines list
Every year, Wine Spectator comes out with a list of the year’s Top 100 Wines, chosen by its tasting panel. This year, the magazine is making a big to-do online by stretching out the reveal.
It’s the 25th anniversary of the Top 100 list, so why not?
Starting this week through Nov. 24, visitors will have free access to WineSpectator.com, where they can check wine ratings, read blogs and explore any and everything related to wine. Online subscription is normally $49.95, and $75 buys both online and print subscriptions.
The top 10 countdown started Monday with Wines 10 and 9. The 2010 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley, Washington, comes in at No. 10 with 95 points and a price tag of $135.
No. 9 is the Reserve 2010 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley at 96 points and also at $135.
Wines 8 and 7 will be revealed Tuesday, with the two more each day until Friday, when the top wine of the year will be unveiled.
Online visitors will also be able to go back into the Top 100 archives to see how this list compares with previous ones.
The list will appear in the Dec. 31 print edition of Wine Spectator, available Dec. 3.
