dineLA’s Restaurant Week returns for a 12-day run from Jan. 20 to 31, with the aim to highlight L.A.’s diversity of culinary experiences. Locals and visitors can enjoy a selection of specially priced prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus from some of L.A.’s top restaurants. Lunch is $15 to $25, and dinner starts at $25 and goes up to $85 for tasting menus. The tasting menus are a new addition to Restaurant Week and are available at restaurants such as Valentino, Melisse, Patina and Mar’sel. Visit www.discoverlosangeles.com. 2nd Annual Eat Well Week in Santa Monica takes place Jan. 5 to 12 with more than a dozen restaurants providing meals that jibe with one of the top New Year’s resolutions – to lose weight. Restaurants such as the Cast at Viceroy will offer a prix fixe menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner, for example, is $34 and includes either roasted beets or Tuscan kale salad to start, then salmon with asparagus and mushrooms, roasted chicken with Yukon potatoes, pancetta and cremini mushrooms, or market chopped salad with raw and roasted vegetables. The LA Art Show 2014 opening night premiere party kicks off a year-long celebration honoring the Sister Cities 50 Year Anniversary of the Los Angeles-Bordeaux partnership. On Jan. 15, from 8 to 11 p.m., the exclusive ticketed reception honors the international relationship between Los Angeles and Bordeaux and will feature a tasting of Grand Cru wines from Bordeaux, alongside a special menu by chef John Sedlar of Rivera. Dishes include Korean tamales with kimichi, savory Peruvian flan with Margaux jus and duck tacos with ginger and Sauterne gelée. Tickets are $125 and are available for purchase online.
