This new chile vodka claims to be the hottest in the world
“Do not drink as a shot under any circumstances.”
These are the words written on packages of the Hot Enough Vodka Co.’s new bottles of 500,000 Scovilles Naga Chilli vodka. You’re also instructed to use extreme caution.
Made with Naga jolokia chiles, also known as ghost chiles and bhut jolokias, this vodka is 200 times hotter than a jalapeno pepper. The website claims that this is the hottest vodka in the world — ever — and that drinking it feels similar to “imbibing volcanic lava.”
If this doesn’t sound like something you’d like in your next happy hour cocktail, you can watch a video of what happens when more than a couple people decide to take shots of the vodka here. (Be warned that the video contains plenty of profanity, and gallons of milk.)
It’s almost worse than that time 1,000 people decided to eat 1,000 ghost chiles, then flip out.
The Hot Enough Vodka Co. also makes a “250,000 Scovilles” vodka and a “100,000 Scovilles” vodka, each named for how hot the liquor is on the Scoville scale.
If you’ve just finished watching the video above, and still feel the need to try it, you can preorder a bottle at Firebox.com for $53.19. (Holiday gift!)
