Carl’s Jr. Pop Tart Ice Cream Sandwich: Did you just do a double-take?
A Pop Tart and ice cream concoction called the Carl’s Jr. Pop Tart Ice Cream Sandwich has hit a Newport Beach location of the fast food chain.
If you just did a double take and reread that last sentence because it was one of those oh-my-God-is-this-really-happening-sounds-too-good-don’t-tease-me moments, you’re not alone.
Spec_J posted a photo of the item on Instagram taken at an unidentified Carl’s Jr. location in Newport Beach.

According to the menu posting, the hand-scooped strawberry Pop Tart ice cream sandwich is $1.49. It looks like something everyone who has ever tried a Pop Tart has wanted to do with the popular breakfast pastry. Why not shove a scoop of ice cream between two Pop Tarts?
“All of our products are indulgent, decadent,” Carl’s Jr. Chief Executive Andy Puzder recently told the L.A. Times. Pop Tarts aren’t exactly decadent, but putting a scoop of ice cream between two of them definitely makes the sandwich indulgent.
Burger King tests delivery service
A phone call to the Carl’s Jr. customer service line revealed that the sandwich was not available at all locations and that the chain was most likely testing the menu item at the one location in Orange County.
If the sandwich does become a regular menu item, maybe we can expect the signature Carl’s Jr. ad approach: a hot, skinny girl eating a fattening sandwich. Think Audrina Patridge or a swimsuit model with ice cream dripping down her chin instead of ketchup.
