Ben and Jerry’s Ron Burgundy Scotchy Scotch Scotch ice cream has arrived
If you’re a Scotch lover, it’s unnatural to want that drink mixed with other flavors. If you’re “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” star Ron Burgundy (played by Will Ferrell) you love your “Scotch, Scotchy Scotch Scotch” the most, down in your belly, and without any pants on, of course.
So it looks like Ben & Jerry’s new flavor, called Ron Burgundy’s Scotchy Scotch Scotch, should not upset the purists or the Ron Burgundy fans. (The “Anchorman” sequel comes out in December.)
No boozy ice cream here. Instead, it’s butterscotch ice cream with swirls of butterscotch and what tastes like little pieces of butterscotch candies.
We received the ice cream at our office Wednesday and thought we’d give it a taste test. Reviews were mixed. Some really liked the taste of the butterscotch and the little bits of candy while others thought it was too sweet. One complaint that resonated across the board was that there was no Scotch in it.
We’re pretty sure Ron Burgundy would be disappointed too if he found out his bowl of Scotchy Scotch Scotch was actually virgin.
The ice cream is available at Ben & Jerry’s stores and will be in markets for the next couple of weeks.
