The restaurant and butchery Belcampo Meat Co., the Bay Area butcher known for raising, processing and selling its own sustainable meat, is now up and running at Grand Central Market in downtown Los Angeles.

The six-person lunch counter and a meat display case replace what was once the longtime Grand Central butcher Economy Meats.

On the menu are the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with thinly sliced seared beef, peppers, onions and a house cheese sauce ($12); the Belcampo burger with dry-aged and grass-fed beef, cheddar and caramelized onions on a sesame seed bun ($12.50); cabeza frita cemita with deep-fried pork head and trotter, avocado, salsa and queso ($11); a meatball sandwich with beef and pork, tomato sauce, garlic butter, melted provolone and basil ($11.50); a twice-cooked duck bun or sandwich, with steamed and fried duck, hoisin-honey glaze, celery and lemon ($6.50/$14); and the Marrakesh cheesesteak with thinly sliced, seared lamb, harissa aioli, feta and arugula ($13).
