8 Champagne cocktails for New Year’s Eve
Stock up on the Champagne, New Year’s Eve is around the corner. And if you’d like to dress up your bubbles, then look no further for all the Champagne cocktail recipes you’ll need. Here are several recipes from the Los Angeles Times’ California Cookbook.
The Whisper Campaign combines camomile-infused Calvados with lemon juice, Chartreuse and sparkling wine, to classy effect.
Rose Wishes and Caviar Dreams is fabulousness in a glass: gin, Aperol, lemon juice, orange bitters, mint, lemon verbena, basil and sparkling rose in a St.-Germain-rinsed glass. Caviar optional.
It’s the End of the Year as We Know It mixes cider and Cava, a winning combination, along with lemon, ginger juice and an orange peel garnish.
For a persimmon Champagne cocktail, make a caramelized persimmon syrup that’s added to orange liqueur and Champagne. Garnished with rosemary and cranberries, it’s the holidays in a glass.
The Golden Boy goes down easy, with sherry, bitters, Cava, a lemon twist and gold dust. Sparkle me tipsy.
You can’t go wrong with a great Champagne punch: lemon, sugar, cassis, elderflower liqueur and sparkling wine, garnished with raspberries and blackberries (you could also freeze them in ice).
The Prom Dress is an especially easy (and especially delicious) Champagne cocktail. The key is lots of bitters.
Starry Night, an appropriately named cocktail for New Year’s Eve, with absinthe, blackberry brandy, cassis and Champagne. Happy New Year!
