Toms launches improved ballet flats
Toms, the company famous for its sell-one, donate-one business/philanthropy model, has brought an improved ballet flat into its shoe mix.
The flats went on sale on Toms website Friday, at $79 per pair and in seven designs, including a plain black leather version. (That’s three of my favorites pictured here: the Oahu, Burlap Alessandra and Brown Gisele styles.)
According to a company news release, the ballet flats have been improved with an elastic ankle for a snug fit, hidden wedge for support and a padded heel cushion. They also have a two-layer foam and latex insert for a softer feel.
I’ve had problems with ballet flats that were just too flat, and it sounds like Toms may have addressed that problem. And for every pair sold, Toms will donate a pair of shoes to a child in need.
So no-brainer: These are going on my weekend shopping list.
