Paris Fashion Week 2013: Nina Ricci’s sex vixens
PARIS -- Meow. Peter Copping’s spring-summer 2013 Nina Ricci show at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday may have started with a quietly serene shower of white petals on the runway. But when the lights came up and the models stomped out, the atmosphere became sexually charged.
The inspiration: A woman’s airs, from vulnerability to domination.
The look: Sex kitten. Sensual tailored pieces with contouring zippers that could take the side slit on a pencil skirt from nice to naughty in a second flat. Kinky blouses with fishnet panels or leather harness details. See-through fishnet print trench coat. Iridescent tweed suits for the ladies. A silk crepe coat with a jeweled hem. Satin dresses with fringe, sequin and shredded lace decoration. Black, navy, ballet pink, mint green, fuchsia and orchid.
The verdict: Hot stuff. A daring and decadent collection from Copping. The new emphasis on tailoring is great to see.
