Dreams crushed: Pepsi-flavored Cheetos aren’t coming to U.S.
Looks like we won’t get our hands on the new Pepsi-flavored Cheetos by Frito Lay any time soon -- or maybe ever.
The junk food world was abuzz Thursday after learning the new flavor actually exists and hit shelves in Japan, but when we finally got a hold of someone from PepsiCo, our snacking dreams were sadly crushed.
When we asked PepsiCo spokesman Jeff Dahncke if the chip flavor would be making its way to the U.S., he simply replied, “The answer is no,” with no further explanation.

Earlier in the day, people took to Twitter to express their mixed feelings over the new product.
“Amazing” and “They’re yummy” Tweeted @midori711c, adding a picture.
“If you weren’t a 7th grade boy, would you eat them?” asked @sarahsiders
“@Fritolay when can we get these here?” Tweeted @alexjako
So what about the rest of us in the U.S. I guess we’ll need to continue the good ol’-fashioned “take a sip, eat a Cheeto” method of consumption.
And there are always eBay and Amazon. Maybe a generous snacker in Japan will sell a couple bags online.
