It’s National Hamburger Day! Right?
The origins of this foodie holiday are hazy, and some pinpoint Hamburger Day as July 28 or Dec. 21. But May makes much more sense. May brings Memorial Day, when celebrants sizzle patties on grills all over America. So on the day after Memorial Day, when we’ve had enough ground beef and buns to last a lifetime, we blearily salute this very American food.
Here we celebrate hamburgers with a little trivia. Have a hamburger now, but remember that in September you need to slap some cheese on that burger and celebrate National Cheeseburger Day, Sept. 18.
