Wendy’s gets cozy with new lounge-style fireplaces
Imagine enjoying a leisurely meal by the fireplace. You sit back on a leather chair, settle into a low table, and dig into an Asiago chicken club, munch on some fries and wash it all down with a frosty. Sound like a dream? Nah, it’s just a regular dinner at one of the newly remodeled Wendy’s locations equipped with a fireplace.
Sure the chain is a go-to for late-night snacks and after-prom shenanigans, but now you can add new fireplaces to the long list of reasons to munch on a square hamburger.

Wendy’s has added fireplaces and lounge-style faux leather chairs to 80 of its locations, Yahoo.com reported. It’s all part of an effort to revamp the 43-year-old brand. Wendy’s is slated to remodel and add fireplaces to 200 of its locations in North America this year.
Wendy’s isn’t the first fast food chain to introduce fireplaces to its decor. McDonald’s locations in Canada spent $1 billion to remodel 1,400 locations with fireplaces, plasma televisions and leather armchairs in 2011, according to the Globe and Mail.
“It’s warm, it’s comfortable, it says stay and relax, as opposed to, this is fast food, get in and get out as quickly as possible,” Tré Musco, chief executive of Tesser, the San Francisco design firm behind Wendy’s makeover told Yahoo.
