Atwater Village Beer, Wine & Food Festival this weekend

This Sunday afternoon, the intersection of Glendale and Glenfeliz boulevards in Atwater Village will be taken over by brewery tents, wine tasting stations and food trucks for the first Atwater Village Beer, Wine & Food Festival.

Organized by the folks behind 55 Degree Wine shop and the adjacent Link N Hops gastropub, and sponsored by the Atwater Village Chamber of Commerce, the festival will showcase more than a dozen breweries. Local favorites such as Eagle Rock Brewery, Angel City Brewing and Atwater’s own Golden Road Brewery will be joined by farther-flung breweries such as Ventura’s Surf Brewery, Triple Voodoo Brewing and Deschutes Brewery.

Not a fan of craft beers? The lineup of beers will be complemented with a wine list selected by 55 Degree owner Andy Hasroun. Gourmet sausages will also be available from Link N Hops, plus there will be a fleet of food trucks to help soak up the booze.

Presale tickets are $30 and include 12 tastings, while a VIP admission is available for $40 and nets you early admission, access to the 55 Degree Wine cellar, and 24 tastings. Ticket prices increase by $10 on the day of the event, so grab them online before the event sells out. Designated driver tickets are also available if you draw the short straw or you just want to snack -- they’re $15 and include a sausage sandwich and a soda.

Live music, great craft beer and fine wines, and Cool Haus ice cream sandwiches sound like a great way to enjoy the (hopefully) sunny Sunday afternoon. The event begins at 1 p.m. and runs until 6, and more information is available here.
