Short, showy dresses on the red carpet

Short dresses and skirts outshone many formal gowns we’ve seen on recent red carpets. Julie Bowen wore a silver beaded Jenny Packham dress with Jimmy Choo sandals to the Audi and Altuzarra Emmys Week Kickoff party while Sheila Shah wore an eye-catching striped black and white dress with a flirty skirt to the same event. Jennette McCurdy, Lake Bell and Malin Akerman (in a vintage Victor Costa cocktail dress) were standouts at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys. Alexis Stoudemire’s green dress with banded hem was red-carpet appropriate at the Elie Tahari show at New York Fashion Week.
