Caitlyn Jenner smashes Twitter record after Vanity Fair cover is revealed

Hey, Kim Kardashian, look and learn: This is how you break the Internet.

Caitlyn Jenner turned the media landscape upside down Monday morning with the release of her upcoming Vanity Fair cover, and left her old identity as Bruce in the rear-view mirror.

She also set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time ever to reach 1 million Twitter followers, a title she seized from President Obama.

And Jenner, 65, also taught those younger whippersnappers -- such as daughter Kim, and that nude #breaktheinternet magazine cover -- how to really make a lasting splash.

Vanity Fair released its upcoming cover of Jenner today and it was a va-va-voom bombshell featuring a coyly demure Jenner dressed in a silky, cream-colored, one-piece bustier that shows off a sexy hint of cleavage -- and toned arms and legs.

No surprise why the photo is such a knockout. It was shot by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The issue hits newstands June 9 and allows Caitlyn to reveal herself to the world, on her terms:

"Bruce always had to tell a lie... he was always living that lie... every day he always had a secret from morning till night. Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. Soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free."

And one sign of such freedom? A brand new Twitter account:

Within minutes of her first two tweets, she had more than 190 thousand followers. Within hours, she had more than 1.03 million.

The hotly anticipated cover follows on the heels of an April interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer, during which Bruce Jenner, the Olympic gold-medal winner, publicly came out as a transgender woman.
