Lifetime picks up fashion show ‘Under the Gunn’ with Tim Gunn
Can’t get enough Tim Gunn? No problem. Lifetime announced Wednesday that it has picked up a new fashion competition show called “Under the Gunn,” hosted by the fashion world’s leading man himself.
The series, which will premiere on Jan. 16, 2014, finds Gunn overseeing the work of three “Project Runway” standouts: Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Nick Verreos.
Those three have already proved their fashion mettle but must now prove to Gunn that they can manage a thriving fashion business. To wit, they’ll be mentoring 15 up-and-coming designers whom Gunn will present with increasingly difficult challenges each week.
Each mentor will oversee a different team and each team ultimately will be judged by designer Rachel Roy, celebrity stylist Jen Rade and TV fashion correspondent and Marie Claire senior fashion editor Zanna Roberts Rassi.
The 13-episode series is filming in November at L.A.’s Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and is being produced by the Weinstein Co. and “Project Runway” producers Bunim/Murray Productions.
