‘The Voice’ recap: And the Season 10 winner is ...

Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched the Season 10 finale and want to be surprised by the outcome, be warned that the winner and details of the show are revealed below.

She did it. Alisan Porter — she of childhood “Curly Sue” fame, who had retreated from the spotlight, overcome alcohol addiction, and made a new life as a wife and stay-at-home mom — was crowned the Season 10 winner of “The Voice” on Tuesday night at the end of a star-studded finale that saw musicians including Alison Krauss, Ariana Grande, Sia, Jennifer Nettles, Little Big Town, Joe Walsh, CeeLo Green and Zayn Malik take the stage.

Porter’s win marks a victory not only for her but also for her coach, Christina Aguilera, who has never before managed to have a team member claim the show’s crown. Aguilera is the first female coach in 10 seasons to mentor a contestant all the way to the winner’s circle. That’s a pretty cool (not to mention long overdue) thing.

And don’t think for a minute that Aguilera wasn’t excited to learn that the show’s viewers had handed her mentee and new BFF Porter the season’s big prize — and her a historical win.

The moment host Carson Daly announced that Porter had edged Team Blake’s Adam Wakefield, who came in second (Team Pharrell’s Hannah Huston and Team Adam’s Laith Al-Saadi came in third and fourth, respectively), and earned the trophy, Aguilera, who had looked calm and serene seconds before, took it in, and then let it all out: She jumped up and down in her big red chair. Then she ran onto the stage, screaming and flailing her arms, to gather Porter up in a big double-diva hug.

The two usually dignified women held hands, stared into each other’s eyes, screamed and jumped up and down like delighted schoolgirls. Blake Shelton, who had come so close to collecting the bragging rights to yet another win, looked on, bemused, as Aguilera dropped to her knees and bowed to the singer who had finally delivered a win for her team.

Aguilera had said earlier that she had envisioned Porter celebrating her triumph with her three young children, and that vision came true, as Porter’s family members — her husband, kids and mom among them — joyously rushed to the stage to embrace her as the confetti dropped.

Struggling to sing her original song “Down That Road” through her emotions, Porter was handed her adorable curly-haired daughter. She briefly tilted the mic the pink-cheeked child’s way. Darn if the cute little person didn’t seem to enjoy her moment in the spotlight.

Another star? Who knows? But it sure was gratifying to see her mom get a second chance to shine onstage and succeed.
