‘Portlandia’ to return Feb. 27 for star-filled Season 4, IFC says
Break out the plaid flannel and bird-decked tote bags: IFC announced Tuesday that its hit offbeat comedy “Portlandia” will return Feb. 27 -- and it’ll be pickled with a heap of guest stars.
The fourth season of the satirical series, in which co-creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein star as eccentric characters of vegan-infested Portland, Ore., will consist of ten episodes (airing Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT). Though it draws a modest audience, the series has shown year-to-year growth and is the linchpin of the small cable network, which is owned by AMC Networks.

Some of the folks joining in the quirky in the new season include Kirsten Dunst, k.d. lang, Portland Trail Blazers, Maya Rudolph and Olivia Wilde -- along with returning guests Ed Begley Jr., Steve Buscemi, Jeff Goldblum, Kyle MacLachlan, Jason Sudeikis and others.
“Whether there is no shortage of celebrities who want to visit Portland, or Portlandia has an endless number of friends, it’s good news for IFC viewers and we’re once again blown away by the creativity and talent this show brings to our air every season,” Jennifer Caserta, president and general manager of IFC, said in a statement.
