Katie Couric is reportedly leaving ABC News for Yahoo deal
Well, that was fast. Katie Couric is on the move again - and her daily talk show is evidently headed for the skids.
The veteran newswoman is about to join Yahoo in an “extensive deal,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Details weren’t reported, but Couric already repurposes bits from her talk show for a feature on Yahoo News.
The latest development will likely mean curtains for her talk show, “Katie,” which has struggled in the ratings over the last two seasons. It’s also the end of Couric’s ties to ABC News. Last year, she was briefly a guest host on “Good Morning America” - her first return to morning TV since leaving NBC’s “Today” in 2006.

Couric, 56, is one of the very few top on-air news hosts to work for three major broadcast networks: ABC, CBS and NBC.
ABC declined to comment but seemed to want to keep the lines open with its departing star. A network executive familiar with the situation wrote: “Katie is an incredible journalist and this was an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up. Thanks to the powerful association between ABC News and Yahoo we know that Katie will continue to work closely with us and welcome her on our air anytime.”
Couric’s spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
