Jimmy Kimmel honors the 2013 Clip of the Year
The end of the year means rounding up “best of” compilations, and though you may be able to catch up on movies or albums or TV shows, it’s really tough to see every popular bit of viral video that floated through the Internet in the past year. So thanks to Jimmy Kimmel for getting some of the best clips together to present an award to the 2013 Clip of the Year.
Kimmel took a few moments on Wednesday night’s show to honor the best short clips you or someone you know most likely shared through their Facebook or Twitter accounts during the last 12 months.
There was the monkey in a snowsuit, crack-smoking Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, awkward North Dakota TV news anchor A.J. Clemente and a foul-mouthed old lady picking rhubarb in a rural alley and a boss at a wine warehouse getting the bejeesus scared out of him by a fellow employee hiding in a box.
The winner? The frightened boss. Paul Lewis of the Colonial Wineshop showed up in person to accept the award. And far from harboring a grudge, Lewis seemed to be basking in the applause and attention.
He even managed to spread the love around, acknowledging that “I thought that little monkey was cute.”
But Kimmel and his staff didn’t have a simple award ceremony in mind when they invited Lewis onto the show. The rest of the festivities are better viewed than described.
