‘Mad Men’s’ Harry Hamlin talks Emmy nomination and ‘energy serum’
Harry Hamlin initially auditioned for the role of Megan Draper’s swinging boss on “Mad Men.” Instead he wound up playing the enigmatic Jim Cutler, the sharp-dressed advertising exec who becomes a power player, post-merger, in the offices of Sterling Cooper & Partners.
Hamlin talked to us in this live video chat about how the part, initially pitched to him as a day’s work, ended up becoming significantly larger, resulting in the actor’s first Emmy nomination.
The former “L.A. Law” star also talked at length about his very personal connection to the “Mad Men” episode in which Cutler brings in a doctor to give everyone at the office an injection of “energy serum.” It turns out Hamlin has given those injections himself. Have a listen to learn more.
