‘Good Wife’s’ Julianna Margulies dealt setback in manager lawsuit

Julianna Margulies may play “The Good Wife,” but her former manager says she was a cheap client.

The star of CBS’ legal drama was dealt a court setback Tuesday when a judge denied her motion for a summary judgment in a case filed by her former rep, Steve Dontanville. His firm sued Margulies last year claiming that she stiffed them for commissions on “The Good Wife,” which in the fall will enter Season 5 on CBS.

D/F Management is seeking at least $420,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The judge rejected Margulies’ argument that her agreement with the firm wasn’t valid because it wasn’t in writing.

As a result, Margulies might have to go to trial this year, assuming she doesn’t settle out of court first.

Margulies’ PR rep did not return a call and email for comment.
