“We are delighted to have someone of George’s stature join FOX News,” Michael Clemente, the network’s executive vice president of news, said in a statement. “His wisdom is enduring and his achievements are far too long to list.”
According to the New York Times, geography was a motivating factor in Will’s decision to jump ship after three decades at ABC. “This Week” is now taped primarily out of New York City, the home base of its current host, George Stephanopoulos. Will lives in Washington, D.C.
Before joining ABC News, the Pulitzer Prize-winner served as Washington editor of the National Review. In 1974, he began a syndicated, twice-weekly column that continues to be widely published in newspapers around the country. He has also written numerous books, including the bestsellng “Men at Work,” about baseball.
