‘Game of Thrones’ ’ Emmy is a win for dragons
Why did “Game of Thrones” win best drama at the Emmys?
“They said you could win with dragons,” the show’s co-creator, D.B. Weiss, said Sunday in the press room after winning the Emmy.
The cast of the show, which won 12 Emmys this year (including eight Creative Arts Emmys), briefly talked to reporters about everything from the perks of having a show on HBO to walking the red carpet in heels.

“We have literally hundreds of people who work on the show that make it sound the way it does and work the way it does,” said co-creator David Benioff. “One of the most difficult things about it is scheduling. Every year when we turn in the outline it seems impossible that we can finish a season, let alone that it will be good.”
However, the “Game of Thrones” squad agreed they are fortunate to work with such a great cast and crew.
“We are lucky to work with some brilliant actors, writers and directors who have all been celebrated tonight,” said Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth in the fantasy drama series.
