CBS moves ‘Vegas’ to Fridays, keeps ‘Golden Boy’ on Tuesdays
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas -- but it doesn’t stay on Tuesday nights.
CBS announced it is moving freshman drama “Vegas” to Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT -- the slot that the network had previously announced “Golden Boy” would take up.
Though a new episode of “Golden Boy” will air this Friday in that slot as scheduled (hey, why not make use of those ads while they can?), that’s where its end-of-the-week airings stop.

Instead, “Golden Boy,” the new cop drama created by Greg Berlanti, will stay put on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, after performing well in the “Vegas” slot during its preview airings on Feb. 26 and March 3. It won its time period in total viewers and key demos, with each episode averaging 10 million viewers, a 2.6 in adults 25-54, and 1.7 in adults 18-49. That was a golden-enough performance, and the network hopes to see it repeated.
Although “Vegas” does well in total viewers, it is not too popular among younger demos. The drama, which stars Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, will move to Fridays beginning April 5, following the network’s coverage of NCAA men’s basketball tournament, where it will lead into “Blue Bloods.”
