Watch the cast of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ perform the score a cappella
“The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” knew the perfect way to fete the latest addition to the “Star Wars” film universe: a cappella music.
As underwhelming as that might sound, Fallon, with help of “The Tonight Show” house band, The Roots, brought together the cast of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for a “Brady Bunch”-esque take on the most memorable refrains from John Williams’s iconic score.
The rendition is bright and bubbly, perfectly capturing the spark that Williams’ music always lends to the epic film series.
Nearly every major player from “The Force Awakens” manages to make an appearance in the video, including the inimitable Admiral Ackbar.
It’s not the first time “The Tonight Show” has tackled the world of a cappella, with previous renditions of “We Are The Champions” by Queen and “We Can’t Stop” by Miley Cyrus.
“Star Wars” opens in theaters Friday.
