Bob Barker to celebrate 90th birthday on ‘The Price is Right’
It’s Bob Barker’s turn to “C’mooonnnn dowwwnnn!”
The legendary game show host is turning 90 years old on Dec. 12, and he plans to celebrate by presenting a special showcase at “The Price is Right.”
Barker hosted the game show, which is currently the longest-running in television history, for 35 years before retiring in 2007 at age 83.

Comedian Drew Carey took the reins after Barker and successfully kept a devoted audience for the show, which is currently daytime’s No. 1-rated series. The show awards participants based on their ability to successfully guess prices of common household products and big-ticket items such as cars, vacations and appliances.
Still, Barker remains dear to most fans’ hearts, so in addition to his appearance on his actual birthday, the show is honoring his big 9-0 from Monday, Dec. 9, until Friday, Dec. 13, with a week of shows featuring pet adoptions.
Barker is famous for championing animal rights, and often ended “The Price is Right” by saying, “Help control the pet population. Have you pet spayed or neutered.”
