Cory Monteith, star of the hit Fox series “Glee,” was found dead Saturday in a Vancouver hotel room, according to Vancouver law enforcement officials.

Monteith, 31, was discovered shortly after noon in a room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver and was “clearly deceased,” according to Vancouver Police Department Acting Chief Doug LePard.

Monteith was found by hotel staff after he missed his checkout time.

“I want to pass on our condolences to the family, friends, castmates and millions of fans of Mr. Monteith,” LePard said late Saturday in a news conference in Vancouver. “As was the case in countless homes, I watched ‘Glee’ regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death.”
