First lady gets down to ‘Single Ladies’ with James Corden in ‘Carpool Karaoke’
She’s charted the evolution of mom dancing with Jimmy Fallon, taught Ellen DeGeneres some moves, and on Wednesday night Michelle Obama crossed another musical TV milestone by riding shotgun with James Corden.
In her carpool karaoke debut on “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” the first lady rocked out to earworms by Stevie Wonder, Beyonce and special guest Missy Elliot.
As Corden circled the White House drive a few dozen times — no way he was going to risk getting caught in D.C. traffic -- Obama chatted about life at the White House and weighed in on the Secret Service nickname the host suggested for himself (“Papa Smurf” it is).
Proving once again she really is just like you and me, FLOTUS demonstrated an impressive mastery of the lyrics to “Single Ladies,” as well as the accompanying dance moves.
Welcome to the Beyhive, Michelle!
