With more than a dozen seasons, hundreds upon hundreds of episodes and a reality television model based almost entirely on phone numbers and populist voting, it seemed only fitting to say goodbye to Fox’s landmark television series “American Idol” by breaking down the digits. Here are a handful of the numbers that matter when it comes to examining the pop culture monolith that was “American Idol.”
