Chris Brown returns to Twitter, gets philosophical on Instagram
In a not-so-shocking turn of events, Chris Brown returned to Twitter for real over the weekend, just about a week after he took his Twitter toys and went home in the wake of a vulgar exchange with female comedian Jenny Johnson.
While his nearly 11.7 million-person @chrisbrown following remains intact, Brown is otherwise starting with a clean slate: All tweets prior to a simple “#CarpeDiem” sent Monday have been deleted.
(Those who delete the past are doomed to repeat it? Fun-seekers can only hope. Wait, that’s not very fair ... did we say that out loud?)
Meanwhile, over on Instagram, where Brown’s username is too vulgar to publish here, on Sunday he posted what many are referring to as an “intimate” picture of himself and Rihanna with the caption, “What would music today sound like if these kids didn’t exist?”
MTV argues that it would probably sound, um, a lot like it does now.
Rihanna chimed in via Twitter on Sunday with a — surprise — topless shot of herself wearing a gold collar necklace, with the curiosity-piquing caption, “He told me, ‘you better not give it away.’”
Chris Brown and social media. The gift that keeps on giving.
