Watch Haim cover Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’
We here at Pop & Hiss are big fans of the L.A. sister trio Haim, whose easy-breezy folk-soul album “Days Are Gone” comes out next week.
And we’re even bigger fans of the Miley Cyrus power ballad “Wrecking Ball,” which we saw the former Disney Channel star demolish last weekend at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
So you can imagine that we’re pretty taken with Haim’s cover of “Wrecking Ball.” Recorded for the BBC’s “Live Lounge,” the sisters’ rendition lacks the unexpected gravitas Cyrus summons in the original. But they add some stuttering guitar action that makes it sound like a distant relative of “Edge of Seventeen” by Stevie Nicks.
(Stevie Nicks -- we like her too.)
