Who might join Taylor Swift onstage in L.A.? Here are 20 possibilities

As Taylor Swift preps to bring her 1989 tour to Staples Center for a five-night stint starting Friday, speculating on who she might bring out onstage is just as, if not more, fun as attending the show itself.

Lorde, Jason Derulo, Sam Hunt, Fifth Harmony, Fetty Wap, Little Mix, Nick Jonas, Little Big Town and the Weeknd have already joined her on this tour. Who will grace the stage with the princess of country pop when she’s in Los Angeles? It’s anyone’s guess – but here are 20 guesses from our wildest dreams.

Shania Twain. The Queen of Country Pop just slayed Staples Center on Thursday night. How awesome would it be if she hung around town an extra night to help Swift kick off her sold-out run?

Ryan Adams. “1989” inspired the indie rock singer-songwriter to base a cover album on it – Taylor, you’ve almost got to call him.

Calvin Harris. Swift’s EDM superstar bae is an obvious choice.

Frank Ocean. After Ocean broke so many hearts by pulling out of this weekend’s FYF Fest – just days before it begins, by the way – maybe Swift can use her star power to heal the hearts of L.A.

Nicki Minaj. Let’s be honest, Swift embarrassed herself by stepping into Minaj’s Video Music Award criticism. The pair’s Twitter exchange divided the Internet, and yielded more problematic headlines than anything else. All is well between the two so maybe Minaj, who just wrapped her own tour, can drop by to teach Swift the choreography to “Anaconda.”

Selena Gomez. Swift’s longtime bestie. There’s no point to even speculate here, this one is a lock.

Dr. Dre. Earlier this year, Swift put Apple Music on notice that she had major issues with its initial plan to not pay royalties to musicians during its three-month free trial period. Not even a day after she posted an open letter on Tumblr, Apple reversed its decision. Dre could always represent the company and pop up here – doesn’t hurt that he’s got the No. 1 movie in the country this week.

Rihanna. Swift is one of pop music’s biggest boss ladies--and every boss lady needs an anthem. Rihanna, obviously, is the reigning queen of boss lady anthems, and anyone who can sell out multiple nights at Staples knows all of the lyrics to “Bitch Better Have My Money,” trust us.

Alessia Cara. The Canadian alt-R&B singer is gaining steam for her debut single, “Here.” She’s also issued some serious covers of Swift’s smashes “Bad Blood” and “Blank Space” – which the singer co-signed.

Drake. Stranger things have happened. You don’t actually know you wanted a Drake and Swift collaboration until it happens.

Silento. Capturing Swift dancing and singing at award shows has become a sport for cameramen. It’s impossible to think she wouldn’t relish the chance to lead 20,000 fans to the Whip and Nae Nae via the teenage rapper’s viral smash “Watch Me.”

Kanye West. Years have passed since that infamous VMA moment (which actually pushed her further into the spotlight) and now that West and Swift have built a friendship, maybe this is when they appear onstage together. We’d pay serious money to see Swift and West run through “All of the Lights.”

Mariah Carey. Mimi and Taytay? Yes, please.

Kendrick Lamar. The video for the Lamar-assisted remix of “Bad Blood” is up for a gang of VMAs. What better place to perform the track for the first time – well, except for on the actual VMAs, which are next weekend.

Britney Spears. If Swift was ever going to pay homage to her teen star roots, it’s likely she’d do so with the one-time teen pop sensation. Spears has a few days off from her Vegas gig (just saying).

Omi. Still can’t tell you what the guy looks like, let alone anything about him, but he’s got the No. 1 song in the country with “Cheerleader.” Apparently it’s quite catchy.

Demi Lovato. Another Swift bestie. Right? I mean it’s hard to keep up with her gang of BFFs – and no, we will NOT be referring to her circle of famous gal pals as a squad. Squads are for drill teams and rap posses.

Zayn Malik. Sometimes Swift dodges her super sweet persona and throws a little shade and there’s nothing shadier than having your ex’s former bandmate onstage. Nothing shadier.

Snoop Dogg. In our eyes, he is the unofficial mayor of L.A. It’s almost sacrilege to come to the West Coast and not hit up Snoop D-O-double-G. Could you imagine the two of them doing “Drop It Like It’s Hot”? We can, and it’s sublime.

Beyoncé. No wish list like this is ever complete without Beyoncé.
